RENEWING GOD’S HOUSE THROUGH LEARNING AND GROWING:  Colossians 1:5-6 “Because of the hope laid up for you in heaven.  You have heard of this hope before in the word of the truth, the gospel that has come to you.  Just as it is bearing fruit and growing in the whole world, so it has been bearing fruit among yourselves from the day you heard it and truly comprehended the grace of God.”

I am an anxious person, and growing up in the Roman Catholic Church, I always worried about whether I’d do enough good to make it to heaven.  You see, we didn’t talk about God’s Grace, it wasn’t until I was in college and a fellow student explained it to me at work one day. It seemed such a simple thing, and almost unbelievable to this Catholic girl, but it was just what I needed and what I feel the world needs from us.  Since that day, I’ve lived all over the U.S. and can tell you that God’s Grace is everywhere!

In the 13 years since that fateful day, I have learned a lot, and I continue daily to learn more about God’s Grace.  You see, each day I mess up, I make mistakes, and then I learn. I learn through group Bible study, independent scripture study, and I learn from my fellow Christians.  Seeing how we each love and take care of one another helps me learn how to better love the people in my life and how to better extend that Grace to others. And it’s all because of God’s Grace.

Heavenly Father, thank you for your daily Grace, that allows me to make mistakes, without condemnation.  Because, each day I learn how to be a better Christian, how to extend Grace to all your children and how to better serve your will.  Amen.
