Acts 14:15-17
“Friends, why are you doing this? We are mortals just like you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them. In past generations he allowed all the nations to follow their own ways; yet he has not left himself without a witness in doing good—giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, and filling you with food and your hearts with joy.”

Prayer: God our creator, who makes our bones strong: through our prayers and gifts heal the ravages of poverty and disease, that those now suffering may one day leap for joy.
Merciful God, you ask us to cleanse our hearts, to loose the bonds of oppression, and to repair the ancient ruins. Pour out upon us the Spirit of your love, that we might pour ourselves out for the hungry and offer refreshment to those who thirst. In the name of Jesus we pray; Amen.
