Family Activities – Week 8

-Try spreading peanut butter or cream cheese on crackers with one hand behind your back. Try it again, this time having a partner to help you. Working or playing with a friend is better than working or playing alone. What are some other activities that take two or more friends?

-A little bit of Biblical history: The Bible explains the Moabites as remote relatives of Israelites. Moab was the son of Lot, who was Abraham’s nephew (Genesis 11:27; 19:37).

-Who are some of your faithful friends? In our story, a mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law are best friends. What are some uncommon friendships in your life? We can be friends with people of many ages. Can boys and girls be friends? Can old people and young people be friends? Can tall and short people be friends? Share about your oldest, youngest, tallest and/or shortest friend.

-Look for pictures of children from around the world (either in books you have at home or on the internet). If possible, show a picture of a world map. Talk about how these children may look a little different, play different games, and live in different places, but that children around the world love to have friends. Say a prayer for friendships everywhere in the world.

-Pray for friends. Maybe allow each family member to name friends. Finish the prayer by thanking God for our friend, Jesus.
