Family Activities – Week 5

-Talk about scary times. Share with each other about the times you have been scared. Who helped in those situations?

-Discuss what it means to be bold. Do you think Moses was bold? Moses and the Israelites had a scary night. Moses was bold and confident. The people trusted and obeyed God. God kept them safe. God sends loving people to keep us safe. We can trust and obey them, too. Who are some people that you can trust and obey?

-Moses said, “Do not be afraid,” to the Israelites just before they crossed the Red Sea. These words are for us, too! Sometimes it’s hard to be brave when meeting someone new, trying something for the first time, or following God. God wants us to help care for people who are scared or lonely. Discuss how your family can help people. One activity is for your family to make cards and mail to people that you know are alone or sick.

-After Moses and the Israelites crossed the Red Sea safely, they sang and danced. Moses’ sister, Miriam, played a tambourine and sang, “Sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously!” Have a dance party with your family and sing and dance! Give thanks to God for all the He has done for you.
