Family Activities – Week 4

-God watched over baby Moses. God watches over us, too. When you were baptized, you became God’s child. Talk about each one’s baptism in your family. Have a small bowl of water. Dip your finger in the water and draw a cross on each person’s forehead to remind you that you belong to God. Take can turns doing this to each other. End with a prayer: Thank you, God, for giving us courage to help others. Please bless [name each person in your family]. Amen.

-Baby Moses lived in Egypt thousands of years ago. He was born into a family that loved God. During Moses’ time, God’s people worked as slaves for the Egyptians. How is Moses’ family like your family? How is it different? Imagine their home. How is it different than yours?

-How can we help people in our families? Choose one person you would like to help and maybe write it down so you can remember. This week, help someone in your family like Miriam helped her baby brother, Moses.

-Talk about people who are helpers (police officers, teachers, pastors, firefighters, doctors, family members…). How was someone helped you? What did they do? How are these helpers responsible? How do you help each other in your family? How does your family help others? How have you helped someone?

-Think about the Pharaoh’s daughter when she found baby Moses. She must have been very surprised. Ask each other if you have ever been surprised to find something? Talk about what it was and how you felt when you found it.
