Family Activities – Week 15

-Read the story of the birth of Jesus from the Bible, a Children’s Bible, or other book that tells the story. Sing Christmas hymns together. Enjoy time with family and friends during Christmas. Take time to pray and thank God for the gift of Jesus!

-Children love to receive gifts. Ask your family to share stories about their favorite Christmas gifts. Are there any gifts they are excited about giving this year? Remind each other that we exchange gifts at Christmas to celebrate the gift of God’s Son, Jesus.

-Remind family members that they can witness every day. It is not always done in ways that obvious to children. Remind each other that they are witnesses by the loving things we do and say. Words and actions are important. Sharing the Christmas story is just one way to witness to others.

-Serve cake or cupcakes at a meal and celebrate Jesus’ birthday! Celebrate the birth of Jesus.

-Did you know that Bethlehem is six miles south of Jerusalem, which was King David’s birthplace. The birth of Jesus in Bethlehem fulfills Micah’s prophecy (Micah 5:2-4) that a new king will come from there.
