Family Activities – Week 11

-Daniel trusted God to keep him safely through the night in the lions’ den. Who has helped you safely through something difficult in your life? Give thanks for God’s presence in your life.

-Did you know that Daniel’s three daily prayers would have been morning, midday, and evening. Christian tradition includes up to nine prayer times throughout the day and night. Discuss how you pray in your family.

-God sends people to protect us and teach us how to make the world safer. Think of people who protect you. What are things you do or wear to keep us safe?

-It isn’t always easy to be honest. In our Bible story, Daniel was honest when he prayed to God openly. It might have been easier to pretend to pray to King Darius, but Daniel was open in his love and devotion to God. Is it easy to be honest? Can you share a time when it was difficult to be honest?

-We can pray to give thanks for food. That’s an easy way to remember to pray to God. Share what’s your favorite food. Where do you eat your favorite food? You can pray in a restaurant, in school, when you’re playing with friends, and riding in the car. You can pray wherever you are!
