Family Activities: Abraham and Sarah

-Do you think God wants us to laugh and be silly? Of course!! Take time to do some activities together that bring laughter and silliness to your family. Remember, the name, Isaac, in Hebrew sounds like the word for “laugh.” That is why Sarah and Abraham gave him that name.

– Today’s story reminds us that Sarah and Abraham had to have patience in waiting for the promise that God made to them about have a child. Share stories with each other when you have had patience in a situation.

-Share what you know about Mother Teresa. She was a nun who shared God’s love with the poorest people in Calcutta, India. Her tender care brought joy into the lives of many, many people. If you don’t know much about Mother Teresa, maybe look for a book the library or research her life online. Think about ways you and your family can bring joy to others.

-Isaac brought unexpected joy into Sarah and Abraham’s lives. Think about things you can do or say to bring a happy surprise to your parents, grandparents, brother or sister, and friends. Maybe there is a unexpected surprise you can do for a neighbor or your teacher at school.
